西村雄輔
1976 年生まれ、福岡県出身
2001 年 東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科修士課程絵画専攻油画修了
東京藝術大学の地域連携プロジェクト運営、美術学部絵画科油画助教などを経て2020 年 より東京藝術大学美術学部絵画科油画専攻准教授。
2003 年より群馬県桐生市の産業遺産である旧織物工場の改修／修繕プロジェクトを手がける。
Moriyoshi Reconstruction Project（2003 ～ 4、旧森山芳平織物工場）、現在長期に渡り進行中のYAMAJIORIMONO*WORKS （2006 ～、山治織物工場） では、傷んだ木造の建物に工場主とともに実際に手を入れながら、その場所と対話し、ものが語る歴史を読み、今を生きる場をつくる行為の在り方を提示している。
また、美術家達の自主企画運営により桐生市の街で展開されてきた美術展「桐生再演」（1994 ～） での展示活動と運営に2002 年から携わっている。

2001 Completed MFA in Oil Painting at Tokyo University of the Arts
As of 2020, I have been appointed Associate Professor at Tokyo University of the Arts, following the administration of inter-regional cooperation projects and a position as Assistant Professor at the same University.
Since 2003, I have organized a reconstruction project in a disused textile factory of industrial heritage in Kiryu, Gunma.
I also organized the "Moriyoshi Reconstruction Project 2003-2004" at the disused Moriyama-Yoshihei Textile Factory in Kiryu, Gunma Prefecture, in parallel to the exhibition "Kiryu Saien" unfurling in the same city. In another event, the "YAMAJIORIMONO*WORKS" still underway at the Yamaji Textile Factory since 2006, I have been repairing the building with the factory owner. We communicate with the premises, think of "creating a new place", and suggest a new form of interaction.
